Your Feet

For some people there is no greater pleasure than to have their feet massaged. For other people a foot massage can be quite painful. This can be particularly so for those people who have to stand all day at their job such as hairdressers and shop assistants.

By having a foot massage you can eliminate a lot of stress right throughout your body. If you find a foot massage too painful, even if the massage is done very lightly, then an alternative solution that can make your feet feel really comfortable is to give them a good soak.

You can do this by getting a bowl of warm water with a few drops of essential oils added. Once you soak your feet for ten to fifteen minutes they should feel quite a lot softer and a whole lot more comfortable. Quite often after having soaked your feet in a warm bowl of water you will be more inclined to enjoy a light massage.

If you do not have anyone to give you a foot massage and you don’t feel inclined to do it yourself then there is a simple alternative that you can use.

Get a golf ball, or alternatively some marbles, and place them on the floor or another firm surface. It is generally better to sit down when you do this and only do one foot at a time. As you place one foot on the ball or the marbles you can gently roll them backwards and forwards under your foot.

Using this method you can determine how much pressure you want to exert and it is quite easy for you to target areas that require some relief.

It is also possible to buy a foot roller. These are generally made from wood and are like a small rolling pin where the main surface is corrugated. It is these corrugations that give the foot the massage when rolled along the floor under your foot.

Body Lotion

There are many areas of the body where the skin is quite considerably drier than that of the face.
While the application of face lotions is common practice for most women, there are many more who neglect to use a good body lotion to maintain the condition of the skin on the rest of the body.

As a person’s skin is one of the first signs of aging it is important that you take care of it, not only on the face but all over the body.

The body lotions that are currently available on the market have active ingredients to protect and rejuvenate skin.
These ingredients such as antioxidants and sunscreens will help to reduce the aging process of the skin.

It is a good habit to get into of applying a body lotion after a bath or a shower when the skin has been cleansed.
By regularly applying body lotion you reduce the chance of getting scaly patches on the skin.
It will help to keep the skin moisturized and in doing so will slow the aging process.

Light body lotions are sufficient for the majority of the body but for areas that are particularly dry such as around the ankles and feet, the elbows and knees, a heavier lotion might be necessary to help reduce dryness.

Rubbing body lotion on will also stimulate the blood flow to the skin.
This will help somewhat in reducing the amount of cellulite that you may have.

While there are many products on the market that claim to reduce or eliminate cellulite, research has proven that these do in fact offer very little help in the removal of cellulite.
It can however help the skin to be temporarily tightened and therefore appear to be more toned.
If nothing else they will make you feel better for a short time and that has got to be good for you.

Do You Have To Supplement Your Diet

Even if you are very particular about the type of food that you eat, it is probably wise to supplement your diet with at least a good multivitamin and mineral tablet once a day.

The reason being is the fact that, a lot of the produce that we buy in the supermarkets these days has been grown in soil that has been depleted of many important nutrients over the years.

The only way that we can get these nutrients is by supplementing our diet.
While there are many healthcare professionals who suggest that you should be getting sufficient nutrients by eating a well rounded diet, there is more evidence that is becoming available now to suggest that there are deficiencies even in these so-called quality foods.

When you add to the fact that we have to cope with additional stress from many different sources these days, not only in the workplace, but also stress that is placed upon the body from pollution and other factors, the need for supplementation has become more necessary than ever.

Many women have low levels of magnesium, and taking a magnesium supplement is one of the best ways to address this problem.

Other minerals such as selenium, chromium and molybdenum are often lacking and supplements containing these can do a lot of good for your health.

Chromium in particular can help to normalize your blood sugar levels and stop you from having cravings that can lead to excess weight from eating junk food.

There is certainly no harm that can be done by taking a good supplement each day, whereas a lack of sufficient minerals and vitamins can lead to all sorts of health problems.

You don’t have to go overboard; as it is quite easy to spend a lot of money on supplements, but just getting the necessities will ensure that your diet is in balance.
